Bucket and Balls:
In this activity, students were each given a rope connected to a large bucket containing tennis balls. Without touching the bucket, students were instructed to pour the tennis balls into the smaller, blue bucket.

Observations:
This was the most successful team building activity the students completed. Immediately after having been given the instructions, students began strategizing with one another. Rather than many students yelling at each other all at once, as had happened with previous activities, students were quiet while others were speaking, and took others ideas into consideration. For example, one student was quick to say "tall people go on the other side." Rather than arguing or offering another example, all students agreed to give the idea a try. Due to the student's communication and listening skills, only two attempts were needed to be successful, and the task overall was completed in under ten minutes. |
